Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Thursday was Brandon's birthday. Where else do you go in Ames to celebrate a birthday, but to Hickory Park! Great food was enjoyed as well as wonderful ice cream desserts. I enjoyed myself so much, that I forgot to take a picture of Brandon with his Chocolate Chip Sundae and the HP staff singing to him :)

Brandon and I aren't really big gifts people. We usually pick out something small that we want and just buy it. This year, I had a big gift made for him. A quilt. We went through his t-shirts from all of the schools he's attended, taught at and coached at. Most of them are pitted out, see through, and ready to be thrown away, but could be saved by making them into a quilt. It turned out so cool! It has words sewn into it also like: father, husband, coach, son, uncle, brother.

The girls wanted to get him some balloons so they picked out this Yogi Bear one. It's perfect because that's the movie he took them to shortly after Mylie was born so I could get some rest and he had a little date with M&M.

We've been up to a few other things too....

Sidewalk Chalk

I wrote their names on the driveway, so they had to write mine....look closely, it says MOM.

Walks Around the Block

"We're exercising" the girls always say when we walk around the block. Myah had to stop and have her picture taken with this flag since she had her flag dress on that day.

Playdate With Our Friend Nate.

Nate was born the same day as M&M. In fact, just about 3 minutes before Myah-4 minutes before Maysen :) In the same hospital! His mom and I used to teach together. Nate has a little brother, Logan, who is 6 weeks older than Mylie. We have many years of playdates to come!

Playing Baby Mylie

Myah and Maysen play with their baby dolls more than ever now that we have a real baby at home. Here, Mylie is laying on the floor just kicking and cooing. Their babies (also named Mylie) are doing the same thing. All of the Mylies get walked in strollers, take their turns in the baby swing, get nursed, and get their diapers changed.

Painting Flower Pots

We're always looking for crafts and fun things to do. I had the girls paint flower pots for my mom for mother's day. Shh.....she's getting them this weekend!

This weekend is a busy one! Myah and Maysen have their friend party AND Mylie is being baptized! Many pictures to come :)

  2. That quilt is awesome! Makes me realize what I'm now doing with all of the boys' uniform shirts that they've outgrown and are piling up! Looks like you guys are having so much fun together. I need to find a time to swing by :)
